A successful Summer of Research 2025

Our Summer of Research festival is over for another year! We’re proud to have shared and celebrated our research through a programme of events and exhibitions that aimed to start thought-provoking conversations, forge new connections and allow members of the public to engage with the ground-breaking work of our research community at Sussex.

“The programme this year was full of really interesting events, and I have a powerful sense that the Summer of Research is now an established and important part of the academic calendar at Sussex.” Sasha Roseneil

The spirit of curiosity and collaboration

Debbie Keeling, Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor for Knowledge Exchange

"The Summer of Research is a real highlight in our calendar, not only for the breadth and depth of scholarship it showcases, but for the conversations it sparks across disciplines, communities and career stages. In a year where the HE sector has faced real financial pressures, it was especially heartening to see such a strong spirit of curiosity and collaboration.

This year’s programme truly captured what makes Sussex research and innovation distinctive, and it was a privilege to see so many colleagues and partners come together to share knowledge, challenge ideas and build new connections. My sincere thanks to everyone who contributed."
